Introducing Miss Limo 2012, Gemma Roberts

Welsh student Gemma Roberts was crowned the winner of the UK’s biggest online beauty pageant, Miss Limo, on Saturday night at a gala dinner at the Celtic Manor Resort. The reigning Miss Universe Great Britain and former Miss Wales, Chloe-Beth Morgan, was the guest of honour and crowned Gemma as the new Miss Limo 2012.

21-year-old Gemma Roberts who hails from Dinas Powys but now lives in Newport where she’s in her final year at University studying Sports and Psychology, was handpicked by an independent panel of judges from hundreds of contestants from across the UK who entered the competition.

Sports fanatic Gemma, who works part time as a lifeguard at Cardiff International Pool and also at Cardiff Ice rink, said she was “truly over the moon and really excited” to be named Miss Limo 2012 and plans to use her title to raise money for Charity Plan UK, through which Gemma sponsors a young girl in Togo.

As well as winning the title of Miss Limo 2012, Gemma walked away with an array of superb prizes including a holiday for two, £500 cash prize, a bespoke website and press release for self promotion on Google News, and a professional photo shoot.

Most exciting of all, the new Miss Limo will also become the face of a never seen before project, the Audi R8 stretch limo sponsored by Limo Broker. The new venture was kept tightly under wraps and was officially revealed on Saturday night in front of an invited audience of transport industry business leaders.

The Audi R8 limo has never been attempted before, and will be the only car of its kind in existence once complete. Gemma was thrilled at the prospect of becoming the face of this exclusive supercar and said she “can’t wait to get stuck into promoting the incredible Audi R8 stretch Limo!”      

The Miss Limo beauty contest was bought by Cardiff based company, the Transport Broker Group, in October of last year who decided to re-launch the event giving the competition a complete revamp with a new state of the art website, new sponsors and a host of fantastic prizes.

The Miss Limo Award was hosted as part of the Transport Broker Group’s annual awards ceremony which honours the staff and companies from across the country that work in conjunction the Transport Broker Group under the organisation’s division companies including Limo Broker, Coach Broker, Cars for Stars and Hire Limos.
